Yesterday, was the start of a short 5 day mission to Naples, hosted by Pastor Michele Romeo’s of Chiesa Cristiana Evangelica Pentecostale, which is a significant ministry with several church plants in the region.
Naples is the capital city of the Campania region in Southern Italy, about 2-hours south of Rome. Its metropolitan area is the second most populated in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. Its name comes from the Greek Neapolis meaning new city.
This is the second time that I am working with this church network, and last night’s meeting provided a good opportunity for fellowship together and to come under the word of God to encourage the local believers in their personal walk with Christ. A special word of thanks goes out to my interpreter; Anna Migliaccio who has worked very hard to make sure the translation of my message is as accurate as possible. Please continue to pray for her to have God’s anointing and she fulfills this tough task. It was a thrill to see many respond to the challenge that was given.
In addition to this it was great through personal conversation to lead one Italian lady called Laura to Christ. It was clear to see God’s calling on her life following the death of a loved one that stirred her to turn to God, which is why she found herself attending church – however she did not fully understand what it all meant and what is involved to become a Christian. After hearing the Gospel, she was very keen to say the prayer of salvation – and it was clearly an emotional and joyful step for her to take!
Today, has been filled with church services, which has provided an excellent opportunity to help build the Body of Christ. Please pray for the coming week, as we prepare for a Christian retreat where the group will be taken through teaching in evangelism and discipleship.
